Setting yourself up for Remote Delivery

Set up your workspace

Find a space in your home where you can concentrate and work from (if on many video based meetings). If you're somewhere with background distractions, use background blur in.

Communicate

Your rhythm with online work from home might look different than it does in the office. Communicate your schedule to your co-workers so that they know when to reach out to you.

Embrace online meetings

Make sure all meetings are conducted on Zoom/Google Hangouts , members can join from wherever they are working. Turn video on so your team can interact face to face and feel more connected.

Online activities

Stay focused on work throughout the day to maintain consistent productivity. Avoid online distractions as well. Limit the time spent on email, social media and websites unrelated to work.

Be mindful and inclusive

A crowded conference call can make it difficult for people to share their opinions. Pause frequently to allow time for questions and remind attendees that they can use the chat window to share their thoughts.

Record your meetings

Team members who aren’t able to join can watch / hear later or search the automatically generated transcript for important information. That way, people can easily review anything they missed or need repeated.

Use Chats on Hangouts

The quick chat at the what many people miss the most when working remotely. Instead, be deliberate about and connecting with your co-workers. Think about Hangout chat messages as you are virtual and set yourself a reminder to check in with people regularly.

Remember to take breaks when you need to

Just like you are encouraged to take breaks while you’re in the office, remember to allow yourself time throughout the day for quick breaks. If you need a short break to gather your thoughts, try walking around the house stretching, or making a snack or Meal

Have fun

Use Teams to encourage fun activities and challenges to maintain morale. Recognizing employees for the work done / creating ideas are great ways to help the team stay positive, engaged and energized. In these testing times it is important to do this as frequently as possible
